With images telling the stories of refugees in Egypt, the Library of Creativity at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina was inaugurated Sunday in collaboration with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
The photo exhibition was entitled "The voices of refugees" and was held on the occasion of World Refugee Day, celebrated annually in June. The exhibition includes 76 panels of refugees' photos in Egypt. The exhibition runs until Thursday, June 18.
The photos recount the stories of refugees living in Egypt who are from Libya, Palestine, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and South Africa, said Hadeer Ashraf, a Creativity Library worker.
One of the photos is of a Syrian named Tallal Abdel Aziz who lives alone in Egypt after he lost his wife in the Syria conflict. His four daughters still live in Syria.
Another photo is of a group of men lining up in the morning heat in front of the UNHCR registration center in 6 October City. They were living at the Salloum camp on the border with Libya before being transferred to Cairo.
