Even despite war, Ukraine tourists still come to Egypt

The co-founder of Ukrainian tour operator TPG Elena Boiko, said that despite the war in her country, Ukrainian tourists continue to visit Egypt with their families.

Tens of thousands of Ukrainian tourists arrive on trips to Egypt with a duration of seven to 14 days, at low cost, via Moldova or Poland, she explained.

Egypt is a prime choice for those who want to spend the winter away from Ukraine fly to Egypt, she said, with particular demand this season.

According to Russian media reports, the total number of Ukrainian tourists who arrived in Egypt since May amounted to 197,000.

It is likely that this number will reach approximately 214,000 after the end of the New Year and Christmas celebrations, with the majority flying to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.

Boiko said that there are now inexpensive flights – via routes to Egypt from Chişinău or Poland, noting that the routes of neighboring countries add extra complexity that would waste two to three days of flight visit time.
