Hisham Alayli, Executive President of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), fined Etisalat Misr LE250,000 on Wednesday for violating the provisions of the licenses issued to the company.
The authority said in a statement Wednesday that the company had not adhered to the authority's rules and procedures regarding contracts with its customers.
According to the statement, Etisalat Misr has sold its services to customers without receiving information or data from them.
The company has violated Law No.10 of 2003, the statement added.
The statement also said that the fine was imposed on the company in accordance to the list of sanctions approved by the NTRA's board during its last meeting on July 6, 2015.
It added that the company's defense team was heard ahead of the sanctions being implemented.
Etisalat Misr has to pay the penalty within 15 days.
