Ethiopia's Renaissance Dam project has no intention of harming Egypt in any way, the country's Walta News agency quoted Ethiopian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dina Mufti as saying at a Tuesday press conference.
Mufti also claimed Ethiopia plans to strengthen peaceful relations with its neighbours. "The successful role we played in mediating with Somalia and the management of Juba is an indicator of our foreign policy,” he added.
The government spokesperson said the Renaissance Dam, religious extremism and the current situation in Somalia were topics discussed during the annual meeting of ambassadors and consuls that assesses the progress made by Ethiopian diplomats. “There are proposals for strategic action in the future,” he said.
