The Ministry of Environment on Monday organized a cleaning campaign at the Wadi al-Gamal National Park in the Red Sea Governorate, as part of efforts to increase awareness of national parks and their role in protecting the country’s natural resources and biodiversity.
The ministry cooperated with members of the Abnaa al-Ababdah (al-Ababdaa Sons) association and the Tourism and Environment Association, along with employees from the diving center in Wadi al-Gamal, to launch the campaign as part of the Egyptian-Italian Environmental Cooperation Program.
The Wadi al-Gamal National Park stated that the campaign aims to achieve sustainable management for protected areas in cooperation with civil associations.
Participants collected waste in plastic bags and transferred them to the public dump in Marsa Alam city, according to the park.
