The Egyptian embassy in Lebanon called on Egyptian citizens residing there who do not hold a valid Egyptian passport to quickly visit the embassy to obtain a travel document.
The Egyptian embassy in Beirut issued a statement on its Facebook page on Tuesday, which reads: “To facilitate for citizens wishing to return to their homeland in light of the current security developments in Lebanon, the embassy requests Egyptian citizens who do not hold a valid Egyptian passport (due to losing the passport or its expiration) to quickly go to the embassy to obtain a travel document.”
The statement called for submitting the following: “Official Egyptian documents proving Egyptian citizenship and bearing a personal photo (original or copy of expired passport, copy of lost passport, national ID card, military service certificate, Egyptian driving license, or work permit issued by Egyptian authorities) and a personal photo.”
“Applications from citizens wishing to obtain travel documents will be received during working days from 12 noon to three pm,” it added.
