The Egyptian Meteorological Authority on Thursday predicted a buildup of moderate rainfall across the country beginning Friday and lasting through Tuesday.
Friday will bring light to moderate rains along the northwest coastal cities, with a light might along the rest of the North Coast and in Cairo, Central Sinai, northern Upper Egypt and the Nile Delta Region.
Friday’s rain along the northwest coast will grow stronger on Saturday and fall in Alexandria, Matrouh, and Salloum governorates.
Mild sandstorms are expected in Salloum, Sedi Barany, and Siwa on Saturday.
Sunday includes more rain for the northwest coast, extending this time to al-Dabaa. Wind gusts will stir up sands in Cairo, the Nile Delta region, and northern Upper Egypt.
On Monday, heavy rain will fall on Alexandria, Matrouh, Salloum, Rashid, and Baltim governorates, with light to moderate rain in Damietta, al-Arish, Rafa, and Port Said.
The Nile Delta region will also witness light to moderate rain in several governorates on Monday, including Kafr El Sheikh, Beheira, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Monofya, and Sharqia.
Wind gusts will continue to stir sands in the Nile Delta region, Cairo, the North Coast, and northern Upper Egypt.
Finally, Tuesday is predicted to be the heaviest day of rainfall, with downpours along the entire North Coast and moderate rainfall in the Nile Delta region.
Several areas in Cairo and the Canal cities will witness light rain on Tuesday.
