Presidential hopeful Mohamed ElBaradei said Thursday that his Twitter account was hacked and his posts about the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) were deleted.
ElBaradei tweeted Thursday at 10:19 am about the incident, saying, "The truth never dies." He did not specify when his account was allegedly hacked.
ElBaradei has criticized the SCAF's management of recent unrest, describing military assaults on protesters as organized crimes.
In a recent tweet, he warned a military official that his statements about protesters could land him in prison.
Major General Abdel Moneim Kato, of the military’s morale affairs department, referred to protesters as "some street bullies who deserve to be thrown into Hitler's ovens," according to an article published in privately owned newspaper Al-Shorouk Monday.
In response, ElBaradei tweeted, "The likes of Kato should be in prison, not in power."
On the same day, ElBaradei mocked SCAF statements that foreign powers want to create divisions between protesters and the military.
