The seventh edition of the El Gouna Film Festival presents 14 selected films for screening at the Zawya cinema from October 27 to November 2.
The festival’s Zawya lineup features some of the most anticipated films from El Gouna, including films from this year’s Cannes Film Festival official competition such as “The Seed of the Sacred Fig”, and “The Substance Caught by the Tides”.
Two of the most compelling documentaries selected for the El Gouna Film festival, “Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat” and “Mistress Dispeller”, will be screened with Arabic subtitles.
The program also features Pedro Almodóvar’s latest film, “The Room Next Door” representing Algeria at the 97th Academy Awards, the Sundance Film Festival audience favorite “Girls Will Be Girls”, and “Souleymane’s Story”, winner of the Jury Prize and Best Actor Award in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
