Eight militants were killed and two suspects were arrested in a joint crackdown by the armed forces and police in North Sinai on Tuesday.
The crackdown targeted areas in Arish, south Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah, according to security sources.
A number of hotbeds used by militants to launch their attacks were destroyed by security forces, as well as two vehicles and two motorcycles without number plates, according to the same sources.
Security forces destroyed an entrance to a tunnel used to smuggle goods to the Gaza Strip as part of the crackdown.
