Sporadic terrorist attacks in Arish City, North Sinai, on Sunday killed eight people, including a child and recruit. Another 27 people were injured.
"A mortar missile fell on Sunday evening on al-Souq area in Arish, North Sinai," the Interior Ministry said on Monday. "Police and explosive experts headed to the site of the accident."
The statement did not provide further details over the circumstances of the explosion.
The official MENA news agency reported on Sunday that a recruit was killed and another two were injured. Two missiles were shot on Sunday near a security camp at al-Salam district in Arish.
