Revenue from Egypt's Suez Canal rose 15.9 percent year-on-year to US$434.6 million in April, and rose 5.1 percent from a month earlier, a state website showed on Tuesday.
Revenue in April 2010 was US$374.9 million. Revenue in March 2011 was US$413.5 million.
The waterway is a vital source of foreign currency in Egypt, along with tourism, oil and gas exports and remittances from Egyptians living abroad.
