The Smart Village in Egypt announced that its employees have evacuated its headquarters due to an industrial leak in one of the petrochemical factories surrounding the area.
The Arab Academy for Science and Technology also announced the evacuation of its buildings and the cancellation of classes due to the gas leak.
Civil protection forces in Giza moved to the Smart Village area after the spread of foul odors suspected of being a gas leak.
The forces also ordered the evacuation of the surrounding areas.
Ambulances transported a number of employees to hospitals surrounding the place to receive the necessary treatment, as local media reported that five people suffered from suffocation.
