Egypt’s searing heat wave hits its climax on Saturday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned against weather conditions in Cairo across the country on Saturday, as the searing heatwave gripping the nation hits its peak.

Very hot weather is expected during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, South Sinai, and the southern parts of the country, with hot and humid weather on the north coast.

The weather will be hot and humid at night across most parts of the country.

The EMA also warned against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during the afternoon and advised people to keep well-hydrated.

Expected temperatures for Saturday:

  • Matrouh: 31C
  • Alexandria: 34C
  • Sharm El-Sheikh: 40C
  • Cairo: 41C
  • Hurghada: 42C
  • Luxor: 43C
  • Aswan: 44C
