The nuclear power program in Dabaa would introduce new industries to the local market and enhance the manufacturing quality of electric and mechanic equipment, Deputy Minister of Electricity Osama Assran stated on Saturday.
The program will also improve the quality of the lubricating oils used for the operation of nuclear and electric plants.
Assran added during the inauguration of the Middle East and Africa International Electricity and Energy Exhibition “Electronics 2018” that the ministry has cooperated with the armed forces in a project to extract and exploit minerals from the black sand in Kafr al-Sheikh governorate.
Assran noted that the total power capacity added to the Egyptian electricity network would increase to 25,000 megawatts by end of 2017.
The government is also implementing its project to install 250,000 prepaid meters in 2018 as part of its plan to replace 30 million electric meters with prepaid ones in the coming ten years.
