The National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) announced that Sunday the first of May will complete the month of Ramadan 1443 AH.
It added in a statement that the blessed Eid al-Fitr 1443 AH (the first of the month of Shawwal) will be astronomically discovered on Monday the second of May.
Gad al-Qady, head of NRIAG said that, according to the astronomical calculations carried out by the institute, said that the Shawwal crescent will be born immediately after the conjugation occurs at exactly 10:28 pm Cairo local time on Saturday 29 Ramadan 1443 AH corresponding to April 30 (the day of the moon sighting).
He added: It is noted that the new crescent will not be born after sunset on that day (the day of moon sighting) in the city of Cairo, as well as in all Arab and Islamic capitals and cities.
