
CAIRO, BUCHAREST, Sept 12 (MENA) – Egypt’s newly-appointed Ambassador to Romania Mohamed Mostafa Orfi presented a copy of his credentials on Friday to Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu.
During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed the greetings of Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty to the Romanian top diplomat, saying Egypt looks forward to promoting relations with Romania to the partnership level in various areas.
The ambassador hopes Romania will serve as a key hub for the wider outreach of Egyptian exports to the markets of Eastern Europe and the Baltic States, while positioning Egypt as Romania’s gateway to the African continent.
He added Egypt eyes the coming period will witness growing momentum in different fields.
The diplomat stated Egypt aspires to the participation of the Romanian president in the planned inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), highlighting the global significance of this event as it showcases the rich heritage of the great Egyptian civilization.
On her part, the Romania minister welcomed the Egyptian ambassador, lauding the depth of relations between the two countries.
Țoiu said her country is keen on strengthening ties with Egypt, in a way that serves the interests of Egyptian and Romanian peoples, especially as the next year will mark the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations. (MENA)
