The Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday that 20 non-Egyptian illegal migrants in Kom Ombo, Aswan have been arrested.

The migrants were attempting an illegal migration through the desert routes.

Legal measures were taken against them, with coordination between the national security and public security sectors as well as Aswan Security Directorate and the transportation police.

The arrested migrants confessed during interrogation that they had paid a person who helped them with the migration.

The security authorities were able to identify the vehicle used to transfer them and the driver. The driver, a Kom Ombo resident, was promptly arrested.
