The Egyptian Ministry of Health’s spokesperson, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, confirmed that Egypt’s hospitals are ready to receive Palestinian victims of the Israeli assault.
He added that the Minister of Health and the Governor of North Sinai inspected the Be’er Al-Abd Model Hospital, assuring that the Egyptian state spares no effort to help Palestinians.
“Based on the directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the Minister of Health inspected a number of hospitals to ensure the level of services provided there,” he said.
He explained that the Egyptian health system is fully prepared to receive Gaza victims in the coming period.
Sources familiar with the Ministry of Health and Population revealed that the ministry is studying establishing a field hospital at the Rafah land crossing in North Sinai to treat injuries from the Gaza Strip, upon the opening of the land crossing.
The sources explained to the “Cairo 24” website that establishing the hospital and equipping it will not take much time.
Its goal is to provide first aid services and treat minor injuries which do not require referral to hospital, thereby reducing pressure on hospitals and freeing them for critical and emergency cases.
The sources added that there are a large number of doctors and medical teams from various specialties and government and university hospitals who have volunteered to work in North Sinai and fill any gaps in some of the most critical and in-need specialties.
