Egypt’s heat continues: Prepare for scorching Thursday with dust and mist

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has released its weather forecast for Thursday.

Expect extremely hot conditions during the day across Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, South Sinai, and southern Egypt. Northern coastal areas will experience hot and humid weather, while most regions will be warm and humid at night.

The EMA also noted that morning mist (fog) is anticipated across northern Egypt, extending to Greater Cairo. It could be dense at times over parts of the northwestern coast and northern Nile Delta. Additionally, winds are expected in parts of South Upper Egypt and South Sinai, potentially stirring up sand and dust intermittently in the cities of Halayeb and Shalateen.

Regarding marine conditions, the Mediterranean Sea will be slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 1 to 1.75 meters and surface winds blowing from the northwest to southwest. The Red Sea will also be slight to moderate, with wave heights between 1 and 1.75 meters and surface winds from the northwest to northeast.

The EMA warned that the severe heatwave will persist across most areas. The expected high temperature for Greater Cairo today is 40 degrees Celsius, while South Upper Egypt will reach 43 degrees Celsius.
