Egypt’s Grand Mufti Nazir Ayad discussed on Friday 10/1/2025 with Pakistan’s Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui means to bolster cooperation in promoting a greater understanding of women’s issues, scientific publications, training on fatwa (religious edicts) and benefiting from the experience of Egypt’s Dar Al Ifta in correcting misperceptions and countering extremist ideologies.
The two sides agreed to coordinate through a protocol to be signed between them via the Egyptian embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The discussion took place in the beginning of Nazir’s visit, as President of the General Secretariat For Fatwa Authorities Worldwide (GSFOW) to Islamabad, where he is participating in the global conference held under the theme of Education of Girls in Muslim Communities: Challenges, Opportunities, which runs from Jan 10 to 14.
Nazir highlighted efforts to utilize resources provided by the Egyptian state, through Al-Azhar al-Sharif, in establishing institutions, dispatching missions and setting up centers for teaching the Arabic language to non-Arabic speakers.
The Grand Mufti underlined the importance of enhancing fruitful cooperation to serve scientific and practical issues.
