Egypt’s General Healthcare Authority, JICA sign cooperation protocol

Chairman of the General Healthcare Authority Ahmed Sobky witnessed, on Sunday 19/5/2024, the inking of a cooperation protocol between the authority and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on financing a Japanese technical cooperation project in the field of healthcare.

The authority’s CEO Amir Talwani signed the protocol with Makoto Tobe, senior advisor of the Human Development Department of JICA.

The protocol focuses on promoting services of 22 health facilities focusing on Patient-centered care (PCC).

The two sides agreed on selecting on Egyptian hospital to be an example of PCC service under twinship deal with a Japanese hospital.

Sobky said this cooperation marks an important step towards achieving the strategic goals of the authority to promote the quality of health services offered to people.

For his part, JICA’s Makoto Tobe said the protocol marks a milestone step to promote cooperation between Egypt and Japan in the healthcare domain.
