Egypt’s exports to France rose 40% after 25 January

Statistics of the Commercial Representation Authority showed a considerable increase in the trade balance between Egypt and France, which has reached one billion euros from January until April 2011, corresponding to a 36.4 percent increase, compared to the same period last year.

Egyptian exports to France increased by 40 percent in 2011 to reach 466 million euros, exports of petroleum products increased by 52 percent to reach 261.3 million euros and exports of non-petroleum products increased by 27.3 percent to reach 205.1 million euros.

Export items included perfume essences, vegetables, cotton and ready-made garments.  
In return, imports from France went up by 33.3 percent to reach 532 million euros, compared to 400 million euros last year.
