Only 111 Egyptian coronavirus patients are currently on ventilators, Advisor to the Minister of Health Sherif Wadea announced on Tuesday.
Wadea made the announcement during an interview with the television program “Hadret al-Muaten” on “al-Hadath al-Youm” TV Channel, adding that Egypt’s isolation hospitals currently contain empty rooms to receive and treat coronavirus cases.
The number of coronavirus cases and deaths due to infection began decreasing 10 days ago, proving that Egypt’s health system works properly and achieves good results, Wadea said.
He urged people, however, to continue taking precautionary measures.
Coronavirus recovery rates in Egypt have increased to 30 percent, according to a statement by the Ministry of Health.
The total number of cases in Egypt so far is 83,001 with 24,975 recovered and 3,935 dead.
