Egypt’s ambassador to Romania: 160 Egyptians from Ukraine left on an Egyptian evacuation plane

The Egyptian ambassador to Romania, Moayad el-Dalie, confirmed that the Egyptian government decided to send an evacuation plane to arrive in Bucharest this afternoon.

This is as part of the ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of citizens stranded in Bucharest after crossing the Ukrainian-Romanian border.

Ambassador Dalie said that large numbers of Egyptians residing in the Ukraine have arrived in Romania.

160 of them will leave the Romanian capital Bucharest this afternoon on an Egyptian evacuation plane.

He added that more than 200 Egyptians are currently in the Romanian capital Bucharest.

There is a further expectation that several hundred more will enter Romanian territory, through the Romanian-Ukrainian border.

Dalie explained that the embassy has provided all the services needed by Egyptian citizens coming from Ukraine.

whether it’s providing residence or other forms of accommodation.

Unfortunately some Egyptians had expired passports but the embassy has renewed them quickly.

The ambassador said that it is scheduled to send evacuation planes to Romania, successively, when more numbers of Egyptians come.

The facilities provided by the Romanian authorities to the Egyptian citizens have been praised in light of the surge of citizens coming from Ukraine.

,“I took this opportunity to thank the Romanian authorities for these facilities.”said the Ambassador.

The Egyptian government decided to send an evacuation plane to arrive in Bucharest on Tuesday at 3 pm Bucharest time, as part of the ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of citizens stranded after crossing the Ukrainian-Romanian border.

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched on Thursday morning a special military operation in Donbass, southeastern Ukraine, and he announced in a speech addressed to the Russian people that the operation aims to protect Donbass.

Putin stressed that Russia will strive to disarm and prevent nationalism in Ukraine, as well as bring to justice those who have committed many bloody crimes against civilians, including citizens of the Russian Federation.

The Egyptian Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expats Nabila Makram assured on Saturday said that there are no missing or injured Egyptian citizens in the Ukraine.

Makram said that there are more than 6,000 Egyptian citizens in Ukraine, including 3,000 students who are divided across 21 cities in Ukraine.
