Egypt’s airports saw tremendous growth in air traffic rates during 2023, receiving approximately 47 million passengers – an increase of 28 percent compared to 2022 – according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy referred to the efforts made by his ministry to increase operating rates and the number of passengers to and from Egyptian airports.
This falls in line with the state’s vision to stimulate air and tourist traffic arriving to and from Egypt.
Air traffic rates at Egyptian airports recorded more than 365,000 flights, an increase of 23 percent over last year.
Cairo International Airport received more than 26 million passengers on 195,000 flights, while Hurghada International Airport received eight million and 700,000 passengers on 60,000 flights.
