The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Sherif Farouk, issued a ministerial decision to extend the second seasonal clearance period of 2024 – the ‘summer sale’ – until September 30.
The decision also stipulates that participating entities must obtain approval from the supply directorates in which their stores are located.
It further requires that participating stores clearly display the discount percentage and must indicate the original price at which the goods were sold before the sale began, along with the current sale price.
The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade also affirmed that the ministry and its affiliated agencies will intensify their inspection campaigns on stores participating in the sale to ensure compliance with the advertised discounts.
He pointed out that the aim of the sale and discounts is to alleviate the burden on citizens and enable them to obtain goods at reduced prices.
