In Cairo, people drank a lot of juice, while others covered their heads with umbrellas or even newspapers to avoid the sun. In Suez, children jumped in a fountain to avoid the heat. And in Alexandria, people ate a lot of ice cream and drank soft drinks, while shopkeepers sprayed water in front of their shops for a breeze of cool air.
