Egyptian riders Nayel Nassar, Mohamed Taher qualify for equestrian final at Tokyo Olympics

Egyptian riders Nayel Nassar and Mohamed Taher Ziada qualified for the singles final in equestrian competitions after participating in the first round competitions that took place Tuesday, featuring 75 riders.

The final competitions will be held Wednesday as the duo qualified among the top 30 riders.

Nassar shined in the equestrian singles qualifiers and finished his attempt without errors in 88.42 seconds.

American billionaire Bill Gates supported Egyptian rider Nassar before his participation in the equestrian competitions in the current Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics.

Gates published a picture of Nassar through his Instagram account, and wrote: “I’m rooting for lots of the athletes in Tokyo right now but none more than my soon to be son in law Nayel Nassar. Good luck Nayel!”

The Egyptian national equestrian team, including Nassar, Abdel Qader Saeed, Sameh al-Dahan and Ziada was qualified to the Olympics after they ranked fifth in the Equestrian Nations Cup in October 2019 in Morocco.
