Egyptian police discovered on Sunday a store of explosives and weapons near al-Shallaq village, 10km from Gaza.
“The secret store was found in the form of a deep hole covered with trees, wood and plastic. Huge amounts of shells, 20 surface-to-surface missiles, parts of dismantled missiles, dozens of grenades, and a quarter ton of TNT explosives were discovered,” said an Egyptian security source.
The source added that the discovery was made after security forces recieved information about the smuggling of explosives to Gaza through al-Shallaq village.
No one has been arrested near the site, according to the source, who said heavy security will surround the store until the explosives are confiscated.
