Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abu-Zaid said that his ministry announced on Saturday a unified website supervised by the Egyptian mission in Ramallah for the return of Egyptians from the Gaza Strip.
This website will be the main portal through which any Egyptian citizen residing in the Gaza Strip or their family can apply to register a request to return home, he explained.
During a telephone interview with the talk show “Hadith al-Qahira” (Cairo Talk) on Sunday evening, Abu-Zaid pointed out there is now a greater amount of methods to register Egyptians returning from Gaza, but that has left room for some type of incorrect data.
This unified website on the other hand is official, under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and managed by the Egyptian mission in Ramallah, he said.
Abu-Zaid explained that this site collects names, prepares them in the form of accurate lists and sends them to the Foreign Ministry.
It then verifies them and sends them to the Rafah crossing border for the Palestinian and Egyptian sides, which supervise the Rafah crossing to facilitate the entry of Egyptians from the Gaza Strip into Egypt.
