Egyptian movie wins top prize at Cairo film festival

"Al-Shawq," a movie by Egyptian director Khaled al-Hagar, won the Golden Pyramid at the 34th Cairo International Film Festival which ended on Thursday.

"Microphone" by Egypt's Ahmed Abdullah won the award for best Arabic-language film.

France's Isabelle Huppert, in "Copacabana", shared the best actress award with Al-Shawq's Sawsan Badr, from Egypt.

Egypt's Amr Waked and Italy's Alessandro Gassman shared the best actor awards for their performances in Italian Ricky Tognazzi's "Il Padre E Lo Straniero."
