Egyptian ministers discuss providing free internet at 40 archaeological sites

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled al-Anany discussed with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat bringing internet services to 40 of Egypt’s archaeological sites and museums, in order to improve visitor services.

The announcement came as the two officials met to review a digital transformation and technological infrastructure of the country’s tourism sector.

Anany and Talaat also discussed a number of other projects that are underway due to a November 2020 cooperation protocol signed by the ministries.

Both parties aim to adopt modern technology to develop and promote Egypt’s tourism sector. This includes offering virtual tours of sites and museums for tourists.
