Egyptian military participates in Moscow’s Victory Day parade

A unit of the Egyptian military police participated in the military parade held in Moscow’s Red Square to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany and its allies, Pulse Mubasher reported.

The parade was attended by veterans, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, and a host of world leaders, including Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Military units from 13 countries and 29 foreign leaders, including President al-Sisi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, participated in the parade.

Putin hosted his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping at the Kremlin on Thursday, where he emphasized that the alliance between Moscow and Beijing is aimed at serving their respective peoples and is not directed against any third party.

President Xi’s four-day visit coincides with escalating geopolitical tensions, as China and Russia strengthen their strategic cooperation in the face of Western pressure.

These celebrations take place amidst the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, with Russia announcing a three-day ceasefire from May 8th to 10th to ensure the safety of the celebrations. However, Ukraine rejected this announcement, citing continued Russian attacks on its territory.
