Egyptian Meteorological Authority: warm weekend weather will cool off starting Saturday

Temperatures in Cairo will gradually decrease over the long weekend, according to Eman Shaker, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s (EMA) Director of Remote Sensing. Shaker predicted a high of 33C on Saturday, and a high of 30C on Sunday.

Shaker added, in a phone interview on State TV, that temperatures on Thursday and Friday are expected to be higher  than normal for this time of the year, by two degrees. 

The EMA predicts moderate winds and hot weather falling on Cairo, the Delta Governorates, and along the north coast on Thursday. A dense morning mist is expected in some areas. 

Very hot weather will prevail in South Sinai and Upper Egypt, with moderate winds.

Meteorologists expect rain and possible thunderstorms in cities south of the Red Sea mountain range.

Weather at night will be pleasant in Cairo, the Delta Governorates, the north coast, and north Upper Egypt. Nighttime temperatures will remain hot in Southern Upper Egypt and South Sinai.
