Egyptian man found dead in Kuwaiti apartment, wife suspected

Kuwaiti security services are investigating the suspicious death of an Egyptian citizen whose body was found in his apartment in the Kuwaiti town of Khitan, according to Al-Rai news website.

Preliminary investigations have led Kuwaiti investigators to suspect the man's wife, who recently traveled to Egypt.

A security source told Al-Rai that “the forensic medicine report showed an injury to the victim's head due to being beaten.”

A memorandum is being drafted to be sent to Interpol, requesting that the wife be presented for interrogation in Kuwait.

The news website quoted a security source as saying, “An Egyptian female citizen filed a report at the police station saying that the woman who lives next to her left her young daughter with her and that she was going to pick her up. She was surprised by a phone call from another neighbor saying that the woman had gone to Egypt with her other daughters.”

The source continued, "When the woman who filed report went home, she came back again to complain about bad odors coming from the apartment next to hers, in which the woman who left her child was living. After legal measures had been taken, the apartment was opened and the body of the husband of the women who went to Egypt was found,” the source added.

It is thought that the young daughter was left in Kuwait because she did not have a passport, the source said.
