Prosecutor General Hamada al-Sawy met Friday with his Jordanian counterpart Youssef Thiabat to discuss boosting judicial cooperation.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of a three-day international conference held in Jordan’s Dead Sea region under the theme “Restorative Justice in Contemporary Criminal Policy”.
The two sides reviewed issues of common interest to enhance aspects of judicial cooperation between the two countries, facilitate communication between the Egyptian and Jordanian public prosecutions, and respond to requests for mutual judicial assistance by signing a memorandum of understanding to finalize issues of mutual international cooperation.
Sawy expressed the Egyptian Public Prosecution’s readiness to receive Jordanian judges and members of the Public Prosecution Office at the Criminal Research and Training Institute in Cairo for training courses on various issues of mutual interest, including cybercrimes.
