In October, Egypt’s exports of jewelry and precious stones witnessed its highest rates in eight months, according to the monthly report of the Export Council for Building Materials and Metal Industries.
The report showed that the value of Egypt’s exports of jewelry and precious stones during October rose to US$200 million.
This is compared to $105 million in September, up by 90.5 percent.
The report mentioned Egypt’s exports of gold extracted from the Sukari Mine, according to a source in the Export Council for Building Materials and Metal Industries.
The monthly report said that the value of exports of jewelry and precious stones rose during the first ten months of 2022 to $1.3 billion, compared to $901 million during the corresponding period of 2021, an increase of 47 percent.
The top ten countries importing jewelry and precious stones from Egypt are as follows:
– Canada: $666 million.
– UAE: $656 million.
– Turkey: $3 million.
– Germany: $415,000.
– Italy: $256,000.
– US: $141,000.
– Bahrain: $83,000.
– Kenya: $55,000.
–Tanzania: $50,000.
– Jordan: $34,000.
The report indicated that exports of the building materials and metal industries sector increased during the first ten months of 2022, compared to the same period of 2021 by 8 percent.
According to the council’s monthly report, the sector’s exports increased by $5.751 billion.
This is during the first ten months of 2022, compared to $5.326 billion in 2021.
