Egyptian immigrant sentenced to life in prison over murder of his two daughters

An Egyptian immigrant father in the US who  killed his two teenage daughters in 2008 in Texas, and managed to escape and remained on the run for 12 years, until he was arrested in 2020,  was convicted last Tuesday of their murder and sentenced to life in prison.

The perpetrator, Yasser Abdel Fattah Saeed, 65, committed an “honor killing “, as he killed his two daughters: Amina, 18, and Sarah, 17.

Al Arabiya.net previously wrote a report about him when he was arrested in August 2020 after the FBI classified him as one of the ten most wanted men, for killing his two daughters on the last night of 2008, by shooting them.

The two sisters were found murdered in a taxi near a hotel in Dallas on New Year’s Eve.

Sarah remained conscious for a while and called the emergency services and reported that her father had shot her and that she was dying, but she died with her sister before the police arrived.

Saeed wrote a letter to the judge before the trial in which he said he was not satisfied with his two daughters’ “dating” two men, and denied killing them.

However, the court convicted him of premeditated murder and sentenced him to prison while the prosecution did not request the death penalty.
