Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil al-Araby will meet Thursday with an unofficial Israeli delegation visiting Cairo to promote an initiative intended to achieve peace between Israel and Arab countries. The initiative was launched by prominent Israeli figures and former officials.
An Egyptian diplomatic source said the Israeli Peace Initiative delegation will meet with Egyptian officials.
The initiative was launched in April by number of Israeli businessmen, former ministers and retired senior officers in Israel’s army and security apparatus. Foremost among them are are Amnon Shahak, former chief of staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, and Danny Yatom, former chief of Mossad.
