Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr left Cairo and headed to Doha on Wednesday for a visit during which he will attend Arab Peace Initiative meetings.
The two days of meetings for the initiative's follow-up committee will focus on a United Nations bid for the recognition of a Palestinian state.
The committee will also consider efforts being made to win international support from UN member countries and the UN Security Council, in accordance with international law, which would give Palestinians the right to declare their own state.
