Egyptian exports to England increase by 46 percent

The volume of Egyptian exports to England increased by 46 percent during the first quarter of 2014, compared to the same period in 2013.

According to the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce’s statistics, the total value of Egyptian exports to England between January-June 2014 reached £495 million, compared to £340 million during the first half of 2013.

Egyptian imports to England also increased during the same period by 11 percent reaching £499 million, compared to£ 448 million last year.

Egypt came in seventh place among Middle East and North African countries that export to England, after Algeria, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Kuwait and before Morocco.

Egypt ranked fifth among the region's countries that import from England after UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Israel.  

Exports to England mainly include consumer staples, clothes, electricity generators, fertilizers, paper, medicine and crops.
