Egyptian Court sentences blackmailer to 3 years for harassing Sherine Abdel Wahab’s daughter

An Egyptian court has sentenced a man to three years in prison for blackmailing and threatening the daughter of renowned singer Sherine Abdel Wahab.

The case, which was heard in a closed session to protect the victim’s privacy, came after the defendant threatened to publish compromising photos and videos of the child on social media.

The defendant had demanded a sum of money from the victim in exchange for not releasing the images, but his attempts were unsuccessful after the victim reported the incident to the authorities, RT Arabia reported.

The court charged the defendant with multiple offenses, including invasion of privacy and threatening a child using technology, and the technical evidence supported the accusations.

Security sources had previously revealed new details about the case, stating that Wahab’s daughter had received threats via the TikTok app due to old photos of her.

The threats caused severe psychological distress to the child, “Hana,” who contemplated suicide due to the mental pressure she was under.

In a statement, Hana’s father confirmed that the school had informed him about his daughter’s condition after she received threats on her mobile phone. Following this, the father went to the school to learn more details.

He explained that the threats centered around paying a sum of money to prevent the publication of old photos of the child.

The father indicated that he had gone to the cybercrime department to file a report, where his daughter’s phone was examined and her conversations were extracted.

Both the father and daughter were summoned for official questioning, but the child was unable to attend due to her residence with her mother, Abdel Wahab.

The defendant confessed to the crime before the prosecution, stating that his motive was to obtain money from the family after learning that the victim was the daughter of Abdel Wahab
