Cairo Criminal Court sentenced 13 Syrians to five years in prison.
The defendants were charged with assembling, disturbing public peace, assaulting pedestrians, resisting authorities, using force, assaulting policemen and showing force to intimidate citizens.
Qasr al-Neel prosecutors had detained 13 defendants for 15 days pending investigation in March 2012 and issued arrest warrants for seven others.
The defendants had denied the accusations saying they were peacefully protesting against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad when police arrested them.
