Egyptian Cabinet Spokesperson Nader Saad said on Sunday that coronavirus treatment costs in private hospitals are exceedingly expensive, and that a committee will therefore be formed to set limits on the fees that private hospitals can collect from coronavirus patients.
Saad added during a telephone conversation with Khaled Abu Bakr on the television channel ON E on Sunday evening that the Cabinet agreed in a meeting on Sunday to allocate a separate hotline for each governorate to receive reports of people infected with coronavirus.
Another complaints line, affiliated with the Cabinet, will receive complaints from those who are unable to reach the hotlines, he added.
Hospitals will accommodate critical and moderate cases, Saad said, noting that home treatment has been expanded to avoid overwhelming hospitals.
According to the latest statistics, Egypt on Monday has now recorded a total 24,985 cases, while the death toll rose to 959.
