A delegation from the Export Council for Chemical Industries and Fertilizers and the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractories, Metal Industries, Construction and Building, in cooperation with the Egyptian Trade Representative Authority, headed on a trade mission to Kenya to promote Egyptian products.
Prior to the departure, studies were prepared on select sectors that have potential customers in the Kenyan market, in addition to studying the procedures required for products to enter the Kenyan market and how to maximize the benefit of the Egyptian presence inside Kenyan market during the mission, Khaled Aboul Makarem, head of the Export Council for Chemical Industries and Fertilizers, said.
Aboul Makarem added that during the mission, bilateral meetings will be held with representatives of Kenyan companies, in addition to field visits to specialized markets.
The head of the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractories, Metal Industries, and Construction, Walid Gamal Eddin, said that the first day will see field visits arranged for the delegation members to markets in Kenya to find out product prices and market needs, in addition to holding an introductory meeting for members of the mission on the Kenyan market needs and the laws on investment and trade in Kenya.
On the second day, bilateral meetings will be arranged between businessmen and companies on both sides.
Field visits are planned to Kenyan industrial zones on the third and fourth days following upon the meetings and agreements from the second day.
The mission covers most of the sectors under the umbrella of the two councils, and includes representatives of 26 companies in fields including fertilizers, paints, chemicals, detergents, glass tableware, plastic household tools, plastic garden supplies, iron, mixers and sanitary ware, ceramics and porcelain, marble and granite, aluminum products and others, Mohamed Mageed, Executive Director of the Council for Chemical Industries and Fertilizers, explained.
