The Egyptian Court of Cassation’s Party Affairs Committee approved the applications for the establishment of four new political parties on Monday.
Committee Secretary General Mohamed Mahgoub told reporters that the newly approved parties are the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, the Free Egyptians Party, the Egypt Revolution Party and the Modern Egypt Party.
Since the introduction of the new law on political parties in March, the committee has approved the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, the Salafi Al-Nour Party and the Justice Party, which was formed by young Egyptians.
Also, the Administrative Court approved the establishment of the Freedom Party, which includes remnants of the dissolved National Democratic Party, despite the committee’s decision to reject its application.
