Egyptian Amb in Brussels Discusses With EU President Egyptian-European ties

Head of Egypt’s Mission to the European Union (EU), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and ambassador designate of Egypt to Belgium and Luxembourg Ahmed Abu Zeid discussed with President of the European Parliament Roberta Mitsola Egyptian-European relations after having been raised to the level of strategic and comprehensive partnership.

In statements on Wednesday 13/11/2024, the Egyptian diplomat said his meeting with the president of the European Parliament at the Parliament’s headquarters in Brussels also took up the important role played by the European Parliament in supporting bilateral partnership and facilitating implementation of all related economic and political aspects.

Abu Zeid explained that the meeting also dealt with the pivotal Egyptian role in supporting stability and peace in the Middle East and as the two sides exchanged views on regional and international files of common interest.

The president of the European Parliament voiced interest on continued communication with the Egyptian side to stand up on the Egypt’s vision on solving the regional crises, especially as regards the situation in the Gaza Strip, reaching a ceasefire in Lebanon and de-escalation in the region, he added.

Meantime, they tackled ways to support economic and social development efforts in Egypt, with a view to comprehensive interconnection between stability and prosperity of the European Union’s southern neighborhood and the achievement of European interests.
