The value of Egypt's agricultural exports amounted to LE13.6 billion, representing 10 percent of Egypt's total exports in 2013 and an increase of 44 percent over the previous year, said Commerce and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour
Abdel Nour pointed to the importance of improving the quality of agricultural products and increasing the productivity of the cultivated land, as well as increasing the efficiency of all phases of producing those crops. Nour hoped that these developments contribute to the improvement of productivity and competitiveness to meet the needs of the local and global markets.
Nour's comments came during at the opening of the Egyptian exhibition at the Fruit Logistica 2014, which will be held in Berlin from 5 to 7 February.
