Egyptian-British actor Amir al-Masry is competing with his newest film “See it, Say it” in the short films competition at the 68th London Film Festival, scheduled to start from October 9-20 in London.
“See it, Say it” follows a poor, ambitious young man who is looking for an opportunity to participate in auditions for a movie role, after which his life changes forever.
The movie stars Julie Namir, and Madeleine Boyer and written and directed by Nez Kamal.
Al-Masry is also awaiting the release of his new film “In Camera” in the United Kingdom, Ireland and European countries, on September 13.
“In Camera” is about a young actor who goes through a series of disastrous auditions to get a chance, and faces a series of rejections until he decides to take it upon himself to search for a new role to play.
The film is written and directed by Nakash Khalid, who is making his directorial debut, and stars Nabhan Rizwan, Rory Fleck Byrne, and Hasina Raja.
And al-Masry is currently filming the movie “Giant”, which tells the story of the boxer Naseem Hamed’s rise from the working-class streets of Sheffield to become a boxing champion, all while facing Islamophobia and racism in the 1980s and 1990s in Britain.
Giant sees al-Masry star alongisde cinema giants such as Perce Brosnan, with Sylvester Stallone participating in the production.
